About WealthBox
A financial services firm built around one idea: you come first
WealthBox Financial Services Inc. exists to make serious financial decisions feel less intimidating. That means two integrated departments, plain language, transparent process, and a commitment to explaining — not just recommending.
Who we are
Two departments. One plan. One standard.
WealthBox Financial Services Inc. is a Canadian financial services firm operating through two integrated departments: Insurance and Investments. Most firms treat protection and growth as separate conversations, handed to separate people. We treat them as one picture — because a family's coverage, savings, and retirement are only ever one family's finances.
Our services span life insurance, critical illness insurance, and disability insurance on the protection side, and retirement planning with investment and financial planning on the growth side.
Whoever you're talking to, they see both sides of your situation — which is the difference between a plan that fits and a pile of products that happen to be in the same file.
How we work
Our approach, in four commitments
Client-first, always
Every recommendation is evaluated against one question: is this the right answer for this client's situation? If the honest answer is "you don't need much here," that's what we'll say. Trust is the only asset we actually sell, and it's not repeatable if we waste it.
Education over explanation-after
We explain before we recommend. You'll understand what a policy does and doesn't do, what an allocation means in a downturn, and what a fee costs over thirty years — before you're asked to decide anything. Our insights library and calculators extend that same education to anyone, anywhere.
A transparent process
A clear conversation, a written summary of the gaps and options, and a next step you can see. You'll always know what's being proposed, what it costs, and why — and you'll approve each stage yourself. No surprises, no pressure, no fine-print surprises.
Honest about uncertainty
Markets move. Health changes. Approvals aren't guaranteed. We plan around ranges and stated assumptions, we tell you when something is uncertain, and we never dress up a guess as a promise. "We can't guarantee returns" is a sentence you should expect to hear from anyone worth hiring.
Our two departments
What each side brings to the table
Insurance expertise
Protection is only as good as its fit. Our insurance work is about assessment: what your household or business actually needs, in what amount, for how long — and which products deliver it at a fair price.
- Needs-analysis sizing for life insurance, not rule-of-thumb multipliers
- Critical illness and disability coverage mapped against what you already have
- Business structures: key-person, buy-sell, and corporate benefit planning
Investment & retirement expertise
Growth is only useful if it's there when you need it. Our investment work starts with the goal — usually retirement — and works backward to the contributions, account structure, and strategy that fund it.
- Retirement income planning built on stated assumptions, not sales projections
- Diversification and risk assessed against your real timeline and comfort
- Canadian account structure — RRSP, TFSA, and employer plans used as designed
Our philosophy on retirement
Plan the income, not just the balance
A portfolio balance is a number. A retirement is twenty or thirty years of spending that number produces. We treat every retirement plan as an income plan: what you'll need per year, what CPP and OAS will contribute, and what the private savings must fill — reviewed on a schedule so the plan survives the years it's supposed to fund.
Goals in dollars
"Retire comfortably" isn't a number. We translate lifestyle into a yearly figure you can plan against — and test it against what's realistically fundable.
Assumptions in the open
Return, inflation, withdrawal rate — every projection we show you comes with the assumptions underneath, so you can change them and see what happens.
Reviewed, not filed
Plans go stale. Ours get checked on a regular cadence — and immediately when life makes a change first: a job, a family, a sale, a move.
Who we serve
Built for three kinds of clients
Business owners
Key-person risk, buy-sell funding, benefit gaps, and the personal protection most owners never plan — usually the owner's own income, which has no employer behind it.
Families & individuals
Mortgages, education, one-income risk, and the long game of funding a retirement that lasts decades — planned together, not in fragments.
Professionals
Irregular or growing income, no employer pension in many fields, and a long runway ahead — a plan that scales with your career instead of assuming a salary.
